This dataset accompanies the article “A meta-analysis of outage cost for value-based reliability planning” published in Energy Strategy Reviews. It provides a comprehensive meta-database of the Value of Lost Load (VoLL) estimates used in the study’s meta-regression analysis. The dataset was compiled from 56 peer-reviewed studies covering 47 countries and includes a total of 534 observations. Each observation corresponds to a distinct VoLL estimate and its associated contextual and methodological characteristics.

The purpose of this dataset is to support transparency, replicability, and further research on the economics of electricity reliability. It enables users to reproduce the results of the meta-regression and to conduct new analyses of outage cost determinants across countries and sectors.
