Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1971 comprises 11 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1971. #Each of the 11 omnibuses consists of a number of recurring questions as well as a number of special questions (concerning topical events). The present survey is a year file based on all the 1971 omnibuses. #The questions common to all 1971 omnibuses are: The respondent's residence according to degree of urbanization; sex, age and marital status; the respondent's occupational status and education; the respondent's gross income; gross household income; the bread-winner's occupation; number of persons in household; type of accommodation; number of children (persons under 15); number of adults (persons aged 15 or more); the respondent's status in household; spouse's status; social group; and party preference. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 01 (DDA-0416): #Drug addiction; smoking habits; the present two settling periods (July and December) versus current payment of debts; attitudes to the Government; membership of the National Church; and alcohol versus sleeping medicine as a means of falling asleep. # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-0417): #Driving licence and motoring; speed restrictions; the ability of the Government to adjust the economy of the country; government preference (a Social Democratic government or a non-Social Democratic one); the order of priority of important problems which must be solved (housing problems/economic problems/pollution/ traffic problems/social welfare problems/the health sector/ development aid); and the tight economic policy in Denmark. # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-0418): #The Christian People's Party; gainful work on Saturdays; the order of priority of important problems which must be solved (housing problems/economic problems/pollution/traffic problems/social welfare problems/the health sector/development aid); and the tight economic policy in Denmark. # #Omnibus no. 04 (DDA-0419): #Assessment of the Government; state intervention in collective bargaining; Danish membership of the EC (provided that Great Britain joins the EC simultaneously); reasons for staying out of the EC; Danish missionaries abroad; missionaries versus state experts; electoral age preferences; development aid (the 1% target); the youth revolt; and the TV serial 'Familien Ashton' (A Family at War). # #Omnibus no. 05 (DDA-0420): #Drugs; cannabis; absence from work on the previous day; assessment of the Government; holiday plans; retrenchment sectors (the health sector, the social service sector, the traffic sector or the education sector); the P.A.Y.E. tax system; wage systems; and forms of address (the deferential 'De' versus the familiar 'du'). # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-0421): #Assessment of the Government; Danish membership of the EC provided that Great Britain joins the EEC simultaneously); electoral age preferences; the referendum on Danish membership of the EC; knowledge of the EC; and economic industrial democracy. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-0422): #Danish membership of the EC (provided that Great Britain joins the EC simultaneously); the referendum on Danish membership of the EC; knowledge of the EC; diplomatic recognition of North Vietnam; opinions of the achievements of various political parties; the order of priority of important problems which must be solved (housing problems/economic problems/pollution/traffic problems/social welfare problems/the health sector/development aid); the tight economic policy in Denmark; opinions of the VKR Government (i.e. the Liberal Party, the Conservative People's Party and the Radical Liberal Party); government preference; and the debate about the death criterion. # #Omnibus no. 09 (DDA-0423): #No special questions. # #Omnibus no. 10 (DDA-0424): #Vote at the 1968 general election; a Social Democratic minority government versus another VKR government; various aspects of Danish membership of the EC; the right of Faroese and Greenland members of the Danish Parliament to influence 'purely' Danish matters; the rule requiring a party to win 2% of votes cast in order to be represented in Parliament; vote at the last general election; and forms of address (the deferential 'De' versus the familiar 'du'). # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-0425): #Attitudes to Danish membership of the EC; Danish membership provided that Norway joins the EC; the EC referendum; knowledge of the EC; attitudes to a TV Channel 2 in Denmark; conscientious objectors; tax evasion; the rule requiring a party to win 2% of of votes cast in order to be represented in Parliament; and the influence of this rule on the turn-out. # #Omnibus no. 12 (DDA-0426): #Attitudes to Danish membership of the EC; Danish membership provided that Norway joins the EC; the EC referendum; knowledge of the EC; monarchy versus republic; the Danish Royal Family; sex instruction in schools; the appearances of male respondents; the appearances of boys in the household aged 10-14; and expectations of 1972 (price increases, unemployment, strikes, labour market unrest, economy, standard of living, peace in the world, the power of the USSR, the USA and China). # #Unless otherwise stated, the rest of this study description deals with the recurring questions only
