Crime Rates among Foreigners in Japan

This dataset compiles publicly available statistics from the Immigration Services Agency (ISA) and the National Police Agency (NPA) of Japan for the years 2014–2023. It combines ISA data on the population of foreign residents by nationality and visa status with NPA data on the number of foreign criminal suspects by offense type and nationality. Using these sources, the dataset calculates crime rates per 1,000 population, disaggregated by nationality, visa category, and offense type. The dataset supports research on the immigrant–crime nexus, migration governance, and public safety in Japan.本数据集汇编了日本出入国在留管理厅（Immigration Services Agency, ISA）与日本警察厅（National Police Agency, NPA）2014至2023年间的公开统计数据。该数据集整合了ISA按国籍与签证类别划分的外国居民人口数据，以及NPA按犯罪类型与国籍划分的外国犯罪嫌疑人数量数据。基于上述数据源，本数据集计算得出按国籍、签证类别及犯罪类型细分的每千人犯罪率。本数据集可为日本移民与犯罪关联、移民治理及公共安全领域的研究提供支撑。
