miRNA sequencing analysis of miRNAs expression in peripheral blood from pediatric patients with β-thalassemia

To explore the relationship between miRNAs expression and pediatric patients with β-thalassemia, we analyzed abnormal expressed miRNAs in peripheral blood of pediatric β-thalassemia by miRNA sequencing. 5 ml peripheral blood was collected from pediatric patients with β-thalassemia (n=5) and healthy controls (n=5). The mononuclear cells were collected from peripheral blood and used for total RNA isolation. After linker ligation, cDNA synthesis, and polymerase chain reaction amplification, miRNA sequencing was performed with an Illumina NextSeq 500 sequencer (Illumina).
