LATIN LANGUAGE AND MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY

This article examines the role of the Latin language in the formation and development of medical terminology, as well as the processes underlying the emergence and evolution of terms. It analyzes various theoretical approaches to defining the concept of a “term” within linguistics and terminology studies. The research highlights the structural, semantic, and functional features of terminological units and their distinction from general vocabulary.
