Dataset of rodent echinococcosis infection status in Shiqu County, Sichuan Province, 2016 – 2018

The incidence of echinococcosis in Shiqu County of Sichuan Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture ranks first in the country, and half of the families suffer from echinococcosis. Because of its high infection rate and high mortality rate, people in Tibetan areas call it "bug cancer." The prevention and treatment of echinococcosis and poverty alleviation are listed as the two major political tasks of the county. The Wildlife Ecology Research Team of the Institute of Subtropical Agroecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences selected towns with high incidence of echinococcosis in Shiqu County in 2016-2018. In the grassland within 3 km outside the town, the trapped rat was dissected and the reproduction status was recorded, and the diseased organ was sampled. In addition, a large area of rodent control was carried out in combination with the stone channel, and the dead rats after the rodent control were collected, and the infection of the echinococcosis was observed and dissected. This dataset contains more than 10,000 pieces of information on the reproduction and disease of 853 plateau pika and Qinghai vole in Shiqu County. The construction of this data set is conducive to exploring the transmission mechanism of echinococcosis, providing data support for the prevention and treatment of echinococcosis, and also has a positive effect on the monitoring and prevention of plateau rodents.
