By using a bifunctional organic ligand 4,4′-(1 H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methylene-bis(benzonic acid) (H2tmb) which features both triazol and carboxylate groups, two new coordination polymers (CPs) {[Co(tmb)](H2tmb]·(C2H5OH)0.5(H2O)2.5}n (1) and [Cu(tmb)]n (2) have been successfully prepared using a solvothermal method by reaction of metal salts with the H2tmb in different solvent systems. The two complexes have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis (EA), IR spectrum analysis (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. In addition, the protective effect of complexes 1 and 2 on the acute lung injury was evaluated and the specific mechanism was explored. Firstly, the release level of the inflammatory cytokines was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection kit. Next, the blood gas analysis was conducted to detect the PaO2 and the PaCO2 on acute lung injury model.
