Number of bank and fintech partnerships in the U.S. 2019-2021

Based on a survey carried out in September 2021, the number of fintech partnerships between banks or credit union and fintech companies increased between 2019 and 2021. In 2019, banks that entered into partnerships with fintechs averaged 1.3 partnerships per institution. By 2021, this number increased to 2.5 partnerships per institution. The average number of partnerships per institution among credit unions that partnered with fintech companies was 0.9 in 2019, and 1.5 in 2021.
