Dataset for: Associations Between Food and Social Protection Program Participation and Education Exposure in Batey Communities, Dominican Republic: An Exploratory Study

This repository contains the anonymized dataset used in the study examining associations between participation in food and social protection programs and exposure to nutrition and food safety education among residents of batey communities in the Dominican Republic. Data were collected through interviewer-administered community surveys conducted in 2025 during community-based mobile health clinics. The dataset has been fully de-identified prior to public release. All direct identifiers, geographic identifiers, and survey timestamps were removed to protect participant confidentiality. The dataset includes demographic characteristics, self-reported participation in food and social protection programs between 2019 and the present, perceived current receipt of government food assistance, participation in nutrition education programs, and lifetime exposure to food safety information or education. The survey instrument used for data collection is included in the manuscript appendices.
