资源简介:
Japan has the second highest incidence of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) or Berger's Disease in the world ( 39-45 million cases per million population per year), and 20 to 50 percent of Japanese with IgAN develop fatal end stage kidney disease. The pathogenesis of IgAN is poorly understood and development of diagnostic methods that do not rely on renal biopsy has been slow. Therefore the objective of this study is to compare the salivary microbiome of IgAN patients with healthy controls (HCs) and related mucosal diseases. Saliva was collected pre-operatively from 43 IgAN patients, 20 Chronic tonsillitis patients and 50 HCs. Total microbial DNA extracted from these samples was then analysed by amplicon sequencing of V1-V2 region16S rRNA using 454 pyrosequencing technology.
