Tasmanian devils have spawned two transmissible cancer lineages, named devil facial tumour 1 (DFT1) and devil facial tumour 2 (DFT2). We investigated the genetic diversity and evolution of these clones by deep whole genome sequencing of biopsies from 63 DFT1s, 39 DFT2s, 1 non-transmissible carcinoma and a panel of normal tissues from 72 animals. The here provided sequences were generated using Illumina XTen (150 BP paired-end) and are mapped to the newly assembled chromosome-level Tasmanian devil reference mSarHar1.11.
