Strain B38 was isolated from the bottom of an artificial lake. Based on similarity of the 16S rRNA gene sequence, I designated this strain to genus Flavobacterium. This bacterium contains nitrous oxide reductase which reduce greenhouse gas, nitrous oxide to nitrogen gas. Nitrous oxide-reducing activity and relavant physiology will be further investigated.
