On March 18, 2024, the synthetic microbial community was resuspended in low-carbon-source 2216E medium with 7% salinity to an OD600 of approximately 0.8. The culture was incubated at 25 °C in a biochemical incubator for 1 hour and then immediately centrifuged at 4,500 r/min for 10 minutes to collect the cell pellet. The centrifuge tube was rapidly frozen in liquid nitrogen, and the samples were preserved on dry ice and sent to Novogene Bioinformatics Institute (Novogene Bioinformatics, Beijing, China). Metatranscriptomic sequencing was performed based on the NovaSeq 6000 sequencing system (library insert size of 350 bp, paired-end sequencing length of 150 bp), generating 10 Gb of data per sample.
