Statistics

This dataset contains descriptive statistics used in the analysis of forest ownership and land-cover characteristics in the Swedish BIOTraCes study areas: Ambjörnarp, Istorp, and Säve. The file includes four tables: respondent statistics, landowner-category statistics, forest-owner statistics, and land-cover statistics. Respondent data are derived from project interviews. Data on forest owners and land ownership within the study areas are based on the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority’s property register (Lantmäteriets fastighetsregister). Land-cover data are based on the Swedish National Land Cover Database (Nationella Marktäckedata, NMD), produced by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with other Swedish public authorities and organisations. The statistics were used to compare forest ownership structures within the study areas with national and regional reference figures, to describe the composition of forests and land-cover classes in the study areas, and to assess the relative representativeness of the interview material. The dataset supports contextual analysis of how forest ownership, owner characteristics, and land-cover composition vary between the selected study areas and broader Swedish patterns.
