MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR ATRIAL FIBRILLATION IN PATIENTS AFTER MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

This study investigates the factors associated with the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), including the influence of age, sex, and infarct localization. Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common arrhythmic complications of myocardial infarction and is associated with a two- to threefold increase in cardiovascular mortality. Therefore, its management requires a comprehensive and individualized therapeutic approach. The incidence of AF was found to be higher among male patients older than 60 years. Anterior wall myocardial infarction was identified as one of the major risk factors for the development of post-infarction atrial fibrillation.
