On July 13, 2023, a handheld LiDAR device (iPhone running Scaniverse) was used to collect 3D scans of a Risso's Dolphin (Grampus griseus). These scans were conducted during a stranding event in Haida Gwaii. The handheld LiDAR allowed us to capture highly detailed and accurate morphological data of the dolphin before and after the necropsy commenced.
