INHBA is enriched in HPV-negative oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and promotes cancer progression

Patients with human papillomavirus-negative (HPV) oropharyngeal (OPSCC) have a worse prognosis than HPV-positive patients. The necessity for identifying biologically pertinent therapeutic targets that potentiate the aggressiveness in HPV-negative OPSCC still needs to be fulfilled. Exploratory data analysis of the transcriptome was conducted to pinpoint the molecular mechanisms and essential players for the differing prognoses of HPV-negative and -positive OPSCC patients.
