Each New South Wales Government agency received the copy of the State War Book which concerned emergency procedures for that agency, as well as general procedures to be followed in a crisis situation.This series comprises master copies of the State War Book and copies of the relevant sections of the War Book pertaining to the Ministry of Transport, the Public Service Board and the Hunter District Water Board.The State War Books were based on, and were complementary to, the Commonwealth War Book, 1939.The master copy of the State War Book (6/5666) contains a "List showing telephone numbers and addresses of officers of various departments etc. with whom it may be necessary to make contact in case of emergency", 10 December 1941. Volumes 6/14847 and 6/14848, which are heavily annotated, are marked "Master Copy A" and "Master Copy B" respectively.
