Evolution of Histaminergic system (Supplementary Information)

Our study reconstructs the evolutionary history of the histaminergic signaling system across 89 eukaryotic proteomes spanning major metazoan lineages to determine how its molecular components emerged and diversified. Using homology searches and inferences, domain validation, phylogenetic reconstruction, rogue taxon filtering, and gene tree–species tree reconciliation, we analyzed core gene families involved in histamine biosynthesis , degradation vesicular and membrane transport, and signaling.
