Virus-Specific CD8+ Stem cell-like memory T lymphocytes display enhanced anti-virus responses

Virus-specific memory CD8+ T cells can be classified into three subsets: stem cell-like memory (TSCM), central memory (TCM), and effector memory (TEM). While TSCM cells possess stem cell-like characteristics and the ability for self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation, their lineage relationships with TCM and TEM, as well as their capacity to persist and provide protective immunity against virus infections, remain poorly understood.
