Advantages range from disentangling even minute stellar variability from the planetary signal to help characterise the exoplanet atmosphere from e.g. the strong wavelength dependence of potentially time variable aerosol hazes. Since approved JWST programmes are scheduled well in advance this synergy programme is designed to attempt simultaneous exoplanet observations with CHEOPS whenever possible.
