资源简介:
Surgery is the only intervention for severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) that is potentially curative. Therefore, optimizing post-surgical care is imperative to improve patient outcomes. Compare the impact of a bioelectric wound dressing (BEWD) to standard-of-care (SOC) on healing, recurrence rates, reversal of microbial dysbiosis, and other clinical outcomes in patients undergoing deroofing procedure. A randomized, open-label, split-body longitudinal clinical trial. Post deroofing procedure to the bilateral axillae, we randomized the wound sites to receive BEWD or SOC (petrolatum and gauze dressing). Subjects were followed for 8 weeks to assess clinical outcomes. Wound tissue was collected to evaluate the microbial composition. BEWD application for post-surgical HS care holds promise for improved healing by reducing short term recurrence, and a beneficial microbiome effect.
