This assembly identifies extra human sequences that contain no 101bp exact matches to GRCh38 and are sufficiently diverged from the reference genome. The WGS sequence was extracted from individual de novo assemblies of 254 high-coverage public SGDP samples with redundancy removed by all-vs-all mapping and contamination screened by mapping against the BLAST nt database. The HTG sequence was extracted from existing sequence records for various genomic clones. The assembly potentially helps read alignment and the discovery of large variants.
