资源简介:
This is analytical data supporting a published paper on the origin of the enigmatic ornamental stone known as zebra rock, which is a local product and souvenir of the Kununurra region of northwestern Western Australia. Chemical and petrographic data now solve the mystery of this beautiful red-banded siltstone as formed in waterlogged ancient soils during the Ediacaran period some 600 million years before present. This and other associated paleosols reveal new information about climate and life on land during the Ediacaran period. Paper is “Zebra rock and other Ediacaran paleosols from Western Australia” by G. J. Retallack, 2020, Australian Journal of Earth Sciences.
