Subseasonal forecasts of the state and evolution of the North Pacific jet stream

This dataset contains a list of 5-day average principal components derived from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction Climate Forecast System Reanalysis that describe the state of the North Pacific jet stream in the context of its two leading modes of variability. The aforementioned principal components are available at 6-h intervals between September–May 1979–2019 (“NPJ_filteredpcs_300hPa_with_regime.out”). Nine zipped directories are also included that contain ensemble forecasts of the state of the North Pacific jet in the context of its two leading modes of variability at subseasonal (2–4 week) time scales. These ensemble forecasts were derived from nine models included within the Subseasonal-to-Seasonal Reforecast database hosted by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
