Deciphering the effects of LDPE microplastics films on diversity, composition and co-occurrence network of soil fungal community

Microplastics, as a highly persistent organic pollutant, have attracted worldwide attention due to its potential threat to ecosystems. The effects of microplastics on soil ecosystems, particularly for soil microbial communities, have been reported in an increasing number of studies. However, these studies generally focus on soil bacterial communities, which lead to a lack of understanding of effects of microplastics on soil fungal communities. Here, we profiled the effects of polyethylene microplastics on soil fungal community and focus on three primary features: fungal diversity, community composition and co-occurrence network patterns.
