Dimeric 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR dimer) catalyzes the four-electron reduction of beta-hydroxy-beta-methylglutaryl-CoA (bHMG-CoA) to mevalonate (MVA). MVA concentrations in the cell are tightly controlled through the activity of HMGCR dimer, which is one of the most highly regulated enzymes in metabolism (Goldstein & Brown 1990).
二聚体3-羟基-3-甲基戊二酰辅酶A还原酶(HMGCR二聚体)催化β-羟基-β-甲基戊二酰辅酶A(βHMG-CoA)的四电子还原反应,生成异戊二酸(MVA)。细胞中MVA的浓度通过HMGCR二聚体的活性进行严格调控,而HMGCR二聚体是代谢过程中调控最为严格的酶之一(Goldstein & Brown 1990)。
