This paper presents a curriculum designed to cultivate data literacy among first-year undergraduates by replicating a published economics paper and applying reproducible research workflows. Unlike existing methods that necessitate prior econometrics knowledge, this curriculum is accessible to students without prerequisites, providing an early introduction to economics research. The curriculum integrates basic R programming instruction via an online platform, which enables students to replicate a notable economics study. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of reproducibility in research by incorporating tools such as GitHub and web-based RStudio.
