Biodegradable magnesium (Mg)-based implants are emerging as a transformative solution in orthopedic applications due to their favorable mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and ability to degrade in situ, reducing the need for secondary surgeries. However, the rapid degradation of Mg alloys remains a critical challenge, often resulting in localized pH changes, hydrogen gas evolution, and compromised implant integrity. Our study addresses these challenges by exploring the biological and structural performance of Mg implants processed via Superplastic Forming (SPF) and enhanced through hydrothermal (HT_Mg_SPF) and sol-gel (Solgel_Mg_SPF) treatments.
