The Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) Program Round uses US Treasury Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds and Capital Project Funds to award grants for eligible projects in eligible economically distressed counties. Eligible Economically Distressed Counties are counties designated as a development Tier One or Tier Two area, as defined in G.S. 143B-437.08, or a rural census tract, as defined in G.S. 143B-472.127(a)(2), located in any other county. Census tracts represented in this data are tracts in development Tier Three counties that have more than 500 population per square mile and do not qualify for the GREAT Grant funding.
