Whole genome sequencing of Mycobacterium chimaera clinical isolates. Mycobacterium intracellulare subsp. chimaera

Mycobacterium chimaera is a non-tuberculous mycobacterium (NTM) within the Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). It is associated with opportunistic lung infections and post-operative endocarditis. The goal of this study was to sequence the genomes of Irish M. chimaera isolates to provide the first genomic data for this species in order to aid genomic epidemiology and progress understanding of M. chimaera biology.
