Bathymetric Survey Data for the São Francisco River near Torrinha, Bahia, Brazil, 2014

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Hydrographic survey data were collected from May 22 through June 10, 2015, using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) coupled with an RTK-GNSS rover. The collected hydrographic data consisted of three elements—riverbed elevations derived from bathymetry, depth-averaged streamflow velocity, and instantaneous discharge measurements.
