Digital Archive from Archaeological Geophysical Surveys on the Brede Levels at Winchelsea, East Sussex, August 2024

This collection consists of GIS, Geophysics and text from earth resistance and magnetometer surveys by MOLA Northampton. Work occurred on the Brede Levels at Winchelsea, East Sussex, in August 2024. MOLA's surveys, and earlier work identified a complex of building remains (probably a medieval 'Blackfriars' priory) in St Leonard's Marsh and a set of suspected medieval or post medieval plot boundaries in Road Field, near Crutches Farm. A sparse scatter of other archaeological features, including parts of a medieval sea wall were detected elsewhere within the survey.
