PISCO UCSB Subtidal Invertebrate Recruitment Data
This metadata record documents the recruitment monitoring study for PISCO subtidal. The dataset describes the recruitment of invertebrates to artificial substrates from 2007 – 2017 at sites around the Santa Barbara Channel and Northern Channel Islands. Brushes and 'Tuffies’ were used as standardized settlement substrate to measure the recruitment of competent larvae independent of the availability and quality of nearby habitat. The main purpose of this study is to measure spatial and temporal patterns of invertebrate settlement to understand the effects of oceanography and anthropogenic influence. See Methods for more details
