This FAIRsharing record describes: This document establishes the Open Science Policy of the University of Porto (U.Porto), outlining its guiding principles and operational framework for students, lecturers, researchers, and non-teaching staff across the university and its affiliated research units. It functions as an internal regulatory instrument, shaping and supporting research practices within the U.Porto community. The policy affirms U.Porto’s commitment to the core tenets of Open Science—transparency, accessibility, and the reuse of research outputs. It promotes open access to scientific publications and research data, encouraging the use of collaborative tools and infrastructures that align with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).
To support these goals, U.Porto provides mechanisms for the recording, depositing, and long-term preservation of research data. When no suitable thematic repository is available, datasets produced by the university’s research community are deposited in the University of Porto’s dedicated community on Zenodo, accessible at https://zenodo.org/communities/uporto.
