Saarland Regional Park

Saar Regional Park: Cities and regions need to be well positioned and repositioned in European and global competition. Factors such as quality of life, image and identity are becoming increasingly important for a new location, especially for old industrial regions such as Saarland. Mining and heavy industry still shape the image, but at a second glance it can be seen: The urban landscape in Saarland is primarily green — forest green! The potential of the existing open spaces, but also of cultural heritage, is far from being exhausted. Here are the starting points to create new qualities for the urban landscape and attractive city-landscape spaces. The Saar Regional Park is dedicated to this task as a new instrument of regional planning. The Saar Regional Park comprises the core and edge zone of the compaction area.
