Dataset of heavy metals level in different tissues of Atlantic and Pacific walruses

Data were obtained on levels of six heavy metals - mercury, cadmium, lead, copper, manganese and nickel in skin of the Atlantic walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus), as well as in skin, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and muscles of the Pacific walrus (Odobenus rosmarus divergens). Walrus tissue samples were collected in 2020 and 2021 in the area of ​​Franz Josef Land archipelago and Oransky Islands (Barents Sea) and in 2019 in the area of Mechigmensky Gulf (Bering Sea, Lorino village).
