The study examines theta band (4-8 Hz) oscillations and functional connectivity (coherence) in elite volleyball athletes compared to non-athletes during anticipation of a visuomotor task. Quantitative EEG (qEEG) was used to assess neural efficiency, with athletes showing distinct patterns in theta coherence, suggesting optimized brain resource allocation in experts.
