Zambia Road Safety Data (2016–2024): National Road Traffic Accidents, Casualties, Causes, and Vehicle Types

This dataset provides national road traffic accident and casualty data for Zambia covering the period 2016–2024. It includes annual, quarterly, and disaggregated statistics on accidents, fatalities, injuries, causes, and vehicle types.

The data were compiled from administrative road safety records collected by national authorities. Population data were incorporated to compute standardised indicators such as accidents per 100,000 population.

The dataset has been cleaned, standardised, and validated using reproducible R scripts. It includes a master dataset, individual tables, derived indicators, a data dictionary, and a data quality report.

This dataset is intended to support research, policy analysis, transport planning, and public health decision-making.
