资源简介:
This randomized clinical trial evaluated whether a hospital-based addiction consultation service, called the Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Team (START), could improve outcomes for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). Conducted across three U.S. hospitals, the study found that patients who received the START intervention—delivered by addiction medicine specialists and care managers—were significantly more likely to begin medications for OUD (MOUD) during hospitalization and to connect with OUD treatment after discharge, compared to those receiving usual care. These findings suggest that START effectively bridges critical gaps in hospital and post-discharge care for individuals with OUD.ClinicalTrials.gov ID NCT05086796
