Genomic analyses reveal trans-generational foraging site fidelity in leopard seals

Leopard seal skin samples (biopsies) were processed via ddRAD sequencing protocols so we could obtain SNP genotypes. Genotypes were used match individuals sampled over time to estimate foraging site fidelity and to assess relatedness/ kinship among the individuals. All leopard seals were sampled in the austral summers between 2008-2018 at Cape Shirreff, Livingston Island, Antarctica by the US Antarctic Marine Living Resources Program.
