This program aims to advance the genetic potential and economic value of Madhuca longifolia (Mahua) through systematic research focused on genetic diversity, trait improvement, and sustainable utilization. By integrating ecological preservation with livelihood enhancement for forest-dependent communities, the initiative seeks to identify and characterize superior germplasm using morphological and physicochemical markers. It also includes phytochemical analysis of various plant parts to assess bioactive potential and emphasizes the production of quality planting material from elite phenotypes to support effective propagation, conservation, and long-term resource sustainability.
