Philippine Epidemiological Data

In this dataset, the weekly new cases of diseases in the Philippines from January 1, 2017 to October 28, 2023 were collected from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Surveillance (EDCS) and Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (PIDSR) weekly surveillance reports. These reports, disseminated by the Public Health Surveillance Division of the Epidemiology Bureau within the Philippine Department of Health (DOH), constitute a comprehensive compilation of disease-specific data gathered from diverse health facilities and local health offices nationwide. The diseases covered in these surveillance reports include Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP), Diphtheria, Measles, Rubella, Neonatal Tetanus, Pertussis, Chikungunya, Dengue, Leptospirosis, Rabies, Acute Bloody Diarrhea, Acute Viral Hepatitis, Hepatitis A, Cholera, Rotavirus, Typhoid Fever, Acute Meningitis Encephalitis Syndrome (AMES), Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), and Meningococcal Disease. The dataset contains cases for weeks 1 to 52 of 2019, weeks 1 to 10, weeks 27 to 34, weeks 39 to 42, and weeks 46 to 51 of 2020, weeks 1 to 52 of 2021, weeks 1 to 52 of 2022, and weeks 1 to 43 of 2023. Excluded from were weeks devoid of available reports. The data's utility lies in its capacity to train predictive models, enabling the generation of short-term disease case forecasts in the Philippines. This information can dynamically assist health officials and relevant departments in surveillance, analysis, policy formulation, and decision-making.
