VPRS 16565 Dairy Film Collection

The Department of Agriculture intensified motion picture film production since the advent of country television in 1962.In addition to the production of feature films which was maintained at about eight films totalling some 100 minutes a year, the Department also produced some special film clips for television. The Department film unit prepared more than 80 film clips for television in the year 1962.The Department also produced 16 mm and 35 mm colour sound film for other Government Departments.This series comprises films created/collected by the film unit of the Department of Agriculture.The P1 consignment of this series contains films (produced by the Department) that were used on weekly TV rural reports. They were mainly to do with the Department's extension activities.The P2 consignment contains some films that were collected by the Film unit, e.g. New Zealand Films, Pan Britannic Industries Ltd. England.The original custodian of these films was apparently Jack Green, media person of the former Department of Agriculture. Most of the reels have minimal labelling while others have information written on the reels.

本数据集系列包含由农业部影视制作组创作或收集的各类影片。其中P1批次包含由该部门制作、用于每周乡村电视栏目的影片，内容主要围绕该部门的农业推广业务展开。P2批次则包含部分由影视制作组收集的影片，例如英国泛不列颠工业有限公司（Pan Britannic Industries Ltd. England）出品的《新西兰影片》。

这批影片的原始保管人据传为前农业部媒体专员杰克·格林（Jack Green）。大部分胶片卷仅带有极简的标签标识，其余部分则在胶片本体上标注了相关信息。
