Digital Archive from Archaeological Excavation and Monitoring Work at Alresford Hall, Alresford, Colchester, 2021

This collection comprises image, text and CAD data from archaeological excavation and monitoring at Alresford Hall, Alresford, Colchester, CO7 8AY. The work was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in advance of the construction of an adventure play-park between July and December 2021. The site was located adjacent to Alresford Hall, a Grade II listed building, within an area of known cropmarks. Work revealed an area that was sporadically inhabited from the Middle Bronze Age until the early Roman period. Notable features include a possible linear trackway, ring-ditch and a pit which produced an almost complete Bronze Age loomweight.
