Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Natural Gas Wells This feature layer, utilizing National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) data from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), displays oil and natural gas wells found in the United States' federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) waters. According to BOEM, these are "existing wells drilled for exploration or extraction of oil and/or gas products. Additional information includes the API (American Petroleum Institute) number, well name, well type, spud date, and well status. Only wells found in federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) waters are included".
