资源简介:
The sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) is a species of shark that inhabits subtropical and temperate waters worldwide. It inhabits the continental shelf, from sandy shorelines (hence the name sand tiger shark) and submerged reefs to a depth of around 191 m (627 ft). They dwell in the waters of Japan, Australia, South Africa, and the east coasts of North and South America (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a male individual captured in Delaware Bay between Delaware and New Jersey was coordinated by Gavin Naylor and procured by Pilar Nelson and Jennie Janssen at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco. Manual curation was done by Genoscope in France.
