Draft genome assembly of Malassezia globosa strains from gut and skin

Malassezia globosa is a species of yeast that is commonly found on the skin of humans and other animals. It is a member of the Malassezia genus, which includes various yeast species that can inhabit the skin and mucous membranes of mammals. Malassezia globosa is specifically associated with the human skin, and it plays a significant role in dermatological conditions and diseases. In this study, we isolated Malassezia globosa strains from both the human colon and skin. Subsequently, we conducted genome sequencing to identify the unique genes specific to each strain, taking into account their respective habitats.
