Bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) is a major infectious disease affecting Holstein cattle worldwide, leading to reproductive failures, reduced milk production, immunosuppression, and significant economic losses. Understanding the genetic basis of susceptibility and resistance to BVD is essential for developing effective breeding strategies and improving herd health.This study aims to identify genomic regions harboring single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with BVD susceptibility or tolerance in Holstein cattle. Using genome-wide SNP datasets and statistical association analyses, the research will pinpoint candidate loci and genes that contribute to host immune response and disease resilience. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for genomic selection programs and enhance the genetic improvement of Holstein populations through marker-assisted or genomic-assisted breeding.
