The enclosed data set allow the replication of the analyses performed in 'Bioclimatic variables influence the strength of purifying selection on mitochondrial DNA in an avian clade (Aves: Piciformes)' including, bioclimatic extraction from occurrence data (Figure 1 Bioclimatic data and PCA.zip) , the phylogenetic reconstruction (Figure 2 Phylogeny.zip), the inference of population size history from a diploid sequence using the Pairwise Sequentially Markovian Coalescent (PSMC) model (PSMC.zip) as well as selection regimes analyses using discrete (PAML.zip) or continuous (coevol.zip) variables.
